Osflo is composted poultry litter. For most farms it’s the base of the programme rather than the whole of it, so we blend conventional products in where your soil test calls for them. We spread it ourselves across the region, and we truck bulk Osflo and custom blends throughout the North Island.
Steady growth through the season The nitrogen is held in the organic matter, so it feeds your pasture over months rather than all at once.
More of what you buy stays in the paddock The potassium is organically bound rather than fully water soluble, so more of it stays available to your grass.
Grass for longer when it turns dry Organic matter helps your soil hold moisture. That’s growth in January, not just October.
Paddocks that come through winter better Better soil structure means better drainage, and faster recovery.
Nitrogen that doesn’t count towards your N cap Osflo’s nitrogen is biological. The 190 kg dairy farming nitrogen cap applies to synthetic fertiliser only.
One plan, blended to your numbers Osflo plus super, potash, sulphur or lime, in whatever combination your soil test calls for.
Most of our customers don’t run Osflo on its own, and we’ve never asked them to. Osflo carries the organic matter and the bulk of the nutrient. Where the soil test shows a gap, we blend in what closes it: superphosphate to hold your Olsen P, extra potash where potassium is short, elemental sulphur on lighter soils, lime where pH needs lifting.
So you’re not choosing between an organic programme and a conventional one. You keep what’s working, add what the soil is short of, and put it on in a single application.
What Osflo brings that a synthetic blend can’t
For the numbers: two tonnes of Osflo per hectare supplies N 60, P 12 and K 36 kg/ha. To put that on conventionally you’d spread around 340 kg/ha of super, potash and urea. Anything beyond that, we blend.
Osflo at 2 t/ha covers maintenance potassium on most platforms and most of your phosphate. Where the numbers don’t quite get there we blend super into the spring mix rather than let your Olsen P drift. Silage paddocks get an extra tonne after each cut. Effluent paddocks usually sit out the base dressing.
Nutrient demand on a well-stocked block is closer to dairy than most people expect. Two tonnes in early spring gets grass in front of stock, with another tonne in late autumn to carry growth into winter. On spreadable hill country we run Osflo and lime together to lift pH and feed the soil in one job.
Spread by us Our trucks, our operators, and a GPS proof of placement map for every application, so you can show exactly what went where. Useful for your own records, and essential if you’re farming to a lease nutrient requirement.
Delivered in bulk Composted at our Inglewood depot and trucked out by the load, straight or blended to your soil test. We arrange the drop, and we can arrange an operator to spread it. That’s how we supply farms well beyond our own region. Give us a call to find out more.
If your phosphate is critically low you’ll get further with a stronger P product than ours. If your country is too wet for trucks, we’ll tell you before we take the order.
Our technical specialists read your results with you, then we build a plan around your production goals, Osflo and conventional together.
No pressure. Just straight answers.
